Day 1 - Stage Sculpting / Planner
Sculpting the stage prop in blender and importing to UE
SENIOR STUDIO

Opening Blender for the first time, I started to sculpt a highly sub-divided grid plane in an ornate wave like design following some reference photos I've been gathering for inspiration. My plan is to use this as a backdrop for the stage scenes at the end of the violinist's journey.

Reference Photo

As I used the sculpt tools, I tried to create waves and ornate designs to create depth and contrast.

Once I imported it into Unreal, I began doing some preliminary lighting similar to the reference.

I used some of the previs stage elements to visualize the use of the backdrop, although I think I am going to continue using sculpting for more aspects of the stage elements because I had such a good experience sculpting in Blender. I was recommended to try Z-Brush as well, which I might take up for the fish designs I plan to begin tomorrow.
