Updates Class 7
Updated Title Sequence
Over the weekend, I met with Assistant Director and FX Lead Thalia Valencia-Murphy to discuss what parts of the film were working so far, and what parts needed to be re-imagined. We came to the discussion of the title sequence and how it transitions from shot 5 through the image in the violin case.
With the first two versions of the title sequence that the MOME outsourced artists gave us, we had to ask ourselves if this direction was successful or.. "cheesy".. Thalia brought some great examples of title sequences that are successful, one such that stood out to us being "The Crown" sequence. In this series of shots, there are close look-dev shots with dramatic lighting.

City Scene Replacement
Returning to the City scenes, I decided to scrap the previous Manhattan asset pack that I was using. I found that it was too styled and did not work well to push for a realistic city environment.
Luckily, I was directed by our Mocap Lead Chris Arya to use the free City pack from Unreal Marketplace. This pack (being 100 scary GB!) had very high quality city assets already pre-assembled, which allows me to move forward with this quickly and import my character.
I'm excited to use this new environment and experiment with framing new shots.
Here are some screencaps of the area I want to frame my city shots within. This park like area will allow for more interesting angles instead of being confined to a sidewalk like the previous city.
