Welcome back to my blog!

I'm excited to be back after the winter break and share updates on my senior thesis. For those who are new here, I'm working on a project that explores the journey of a violinist from a beginner to an exceptional musician. This topic holds a special place in my heart as both my parents have been professional violinists, and music has been an integral part of my family for generations.

Why the Journey of a Violinist?

Music has always fascinated me, and the violin, in particular, has a magical quality that captivates both the player and the listener. Through my thesis, I aim to delve deeper into the process of learning and mastering this beautiful instrument. I want to understand the challenges, the joys, and the dedication required to become an exceptional violinist.

My parents' stories and experiences have inspired me to explore this topic. They have shared their own struggles and triumphs, and I believe that their insights, combined with my own research and observations, will provide a comprehensive view of the journey.

Updates on My Progress

Over Winter break, I spent weeks arranging time with family to record the parts of the different instruments to make my own version of the song I was using for the previous previs, "Of Glorious Plumage". I had my mom record violins, my dad record viola, my sister record cello, and my brother-in-law record bass. Many of these recordings are still in the process of being tuned and edited in softwares as well as some parts needing to be re-recorded as the most challenging part is recording from separate parts of the world while trying to stay on the same beats or tempo. Here is a quick demo clip. Please keep in mind I am still working with the sound quality with a professional music artist, but here is the cut without any edits:
